Our Walsall Community Engagement Centre shortlisted for a Better Together Award

We’re delighted to announce that our Walsall Community Engagement Centre has been shortlisted for a Better Together Award in the ‘We care’ category.
The Better Together award is part of Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) Social Value Awards program, designed to celebrate the incredible work being carried out across communities in the UK. The awards highlight those making a real difference in the lives of others.
Our Community Engagement Centre embodies connection, inclusivity, and support, offering a wide range of activities that encourage community engagement and participation. The centre’s success is reflected in the growing number of attendees from different communities, breaking down cultural divides that have persisted for decades.
Our Health and Independence Manager Asima Hussain said: “We’re so thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award. Our Health and Independence team works hard to make the centre an inclusive, welcoming space for everyone. Alongside contracted services like Dementia Cafés and the Dementia Carers Together Group, the centre also supports local groups with activities that promote social engagement, healthy lifestyles, and opportunities for learning new skills.
“TPMS are one of our materials suppliers and we work closely with them through their Community Legacy Fund to deliver our social value and community investment projects.
“We’re so pleased to be recognised for this award and are keeping our fingers crossed for the final ceremony.”
The Better Together Awards ceremony is taking place on Thursday 13 March 2025 at Silverstone Race Circuit.
Good luck to all the nominees, and congratulations to our team at Community Engagement Centre for this well-deserved recognition!
