Silver Birches celebrate the Coronation in style

Silver Birches Street Party

Yesterday (Monday 8 May) colleagues, customers and their families all got together to enjoy a street party at Silver Birches to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Silver Birches is our care home in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull specialising in dementia care and support for older adults.

Our customers helped make the Coronation themed decorations and helped colleagues put the decorations up.

The street party saw lots of people enjoying games and refreshments along with hot pork baps and hot dogs.

One of the family members that attended the street party said “Thank you for today we’ve had a fantastic time and my sister has really enjoyed herself. The rain didn’t put us off!”

Our Lifestyle Co-ordinator Louise Hiorns helped organise the celebrations and said, “It was so lovely to see our customers, colleagues, their families, and our local neighbours all together enjoying this special party.

“The children had fun on the bouncy castle and it was so nice to see our customer’s talking about street parties from their past and sharing memories.

“Everyone had a great time with family and friends, dancing to music, enjoying food, drinks and ice-creams from the ice cream man.

“The King’s Coronation is a huge part of history, and it was wonderful to see such a variety of ages celebrating it.”
