We’re supporting Gas Safety Week 2022
It’s Gas Safety Week this week 12th-18th September and we’re supporting this campaign to help raise awareness about the importance of gas safety.
Since Gas Safety Week, coordinated by Gas Safe Register, started in 2011, support for this national safety campaign has grown. It provides a platform for the gas industry, consumer organisations and individuals to come together for one common goal - keeping the nation gas safe.
We are also celebrating our hard-working engineers who continue the important work of keeping our customers safe for all matters of gas safety.
Our Head of Building Safety, Eddie Lowkis said: “We are proud to be supporting Gas Safety Week 2022 and we’re helping to keep our customers and communities safe.
“The week helps raise awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances and it also focuses on the steps consumers can take to ensure they stay safe, including not attempting DIY on gas appliances and being aware of the warning signs of unsafe appliances, such as dark or sooty staining around an appliance."
Our Gas Operations Manager, Paul O’Driscoll said: “Without regular checks your gas appliances may not work as expected, which could increase your fuel bills or put you and those around you at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions.
“To keep you safe in your home we have a legal responsibility as your landlord to arrange for a Gas Safe registered engineer to carry out at least one gas safety visit to your home each year. These checks must be carried out by law, so please help us to keep everyone safe by booking and keeping your safety check appointments and allowing safe access to your home.”
