Final handovers complete at our Balds Lane development

Balds Lane Complete New

With construction now complete at our Balds Lane development in Lye (West Midlands) the final handovers took place last week.

Our Balds Lane development contains a total of 89 homes with 35 houses and 54 apartments all of which are let for an affordable rent.

Our recently completed development in Lye is catering to a variety of local housing need by providing a range of homes including one and two-bed apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Rachel Wood, our Senior Regeneration Officer said: “It was fantastic to see the final homes at Balds Lane handed over to our customers.  As well as enjoying a brand-new home, those living at our new Lye development are well connected by public transport with bus routes close by and a rail station less than a mile away.

By working with LoCaL Homes and Owl Partnerships we have transformed vacant industrial units into high quality new affordable homes. Well done to everyone who has contributed to the successful delivery of this scheme.”

All the new homes at Balds Lane, have been built using low carbon LoCaL Homes Eco-100 off-site construction panels, which will achieve savings overall in terms of carbon release.

By constructing the houses using LoCaL Homes’ Eco-100 timber frame panel system in a quality-controlled factory environment, the overall speed of construction was accelerated, resulting in quicker handovers and earlier occupancy for customers.

Mike Doolan, Sales and Partnership Manager at LoCaL Homes said: “This project has been an absolute pleasure to work on. LoCaL Homes supplied all the timber frames and trusses on this development. The Owl Partnerships site team were exemplary in all areas. The quality of build was outstanding, and the site was clean, tidy and super safe. LoCaL Homes are looking forward to working with Owl Partnerships on some of there next projects.

“As the home’s fabric is made from a sustainable material it will capture more carbon than traditional methods of construction and will be much more thermally efficient. This will subsequently help with the running costs and lower fuel bills for the occupants.”

The new development on Balds Lane is well located with amenities on Lye High Street just a ten-minute walk away and the incoming residents will have a supermarket within a mile of their new home.
