The site of a former Church in Redditch is set to be transformed into affordable homes by housing provider GreenSquareAccord.

St Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church on Winyates Way, was built in the 1970’s and has been out of use since 2005. The church site has now been acquired by GreenSquareAccord who plan to build 25 affordable homes for local people.

Carl Taylor, Assistant Director New Business at GreenSquareAccord said: “We are delighted to have sealed this deal which will help bring back this derelict land into much needed affordable housing for the people of Redditch. This development is an example of how GreenSquareAccord together with Redditch Co-operative Homes continue to invest into the communities of Redditch to create a lasting positive impact.”

The new energy efficient homes will be built using pre-fabricated timber panels from GreenSquareAccord’s award winning, low carbon manufacturing facility, LoCaL Homes, in Walsall.

Off-site construction will ensure the homes can be built in a cleaner environment with less waste products than traditional builds and with minimum disruption for residents moving into the development.

The new homes will be managed by Redditch Co-operative Homes. To register an interest in these or any other homes on the Redditch Co-operative Homes waiting list please contact Kimmy Dillon on 07834 460369 or visit https://bit.ly/RCHWaitlist
