LoCaL Homes help deliver 40 new affordable, energy efficient homes in Norfolk

Chalk Lane

A turf cutting ceremony, held last week, marked the official start of works on Chalk Lane; a 40-home development by Flagship Homes and Burmor Construction in Narborough, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

All of the homes at Chalk Lane will be affordable and built using open timber frame panels supplied by LoCaL Homes.

Being based within the framework of GreenSquareAccord, LoCaL Homes are an advanced offsite housing manufacturer and are able to offer a range of high quality, high performance, low carbon housing solutions to other housing associations, local authorities and contractors across the UK.

Mike Doolan, our Sales and Partnership Manager for LoCaL Homes, Oleg Barsoukov, Project Manager at Flagship Homes and Luke Boekestyn, Director for Burmor Construction gathered at the new site to celebrate launching this brand-new affordable housing development.

Burmor Construction is building 40 new properties on behalf of Flagship Homes and the site will be a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership properties. The development, which will utilise Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), is also backed by funding from Homes England.

Mike Doolan, Sales and Partnership Manager at LoCaL Homes said: “It was great to join both Flagship Group and Burmor Construction on site at Chalk Lane.

“We are looking forward to manufacturing and delivering the Eco-100 timber frame system as part of this development. With factory fitted insulation made from recycled materials, Flagship Homes will benefit from a much faster build onsite.”

Oleg Barsoukov, Flagship Homes Project Manager, said: “It’s exciting to be using MMC to create homes that are more comfortable and efficient from the outset.

“This is another step forward towards fulfilling our vision of solving the housing crisis, and we look forward to working closely with Burmor and LoCaL Homes to deliver quality affordable homes that people will be proud of.”

The eco timber frame homes will ensure genuine affordability, and the development will widen the local community’s range of housing options, with two, three, and four-bedroom houses available.

The new affordable homes at Chalk Lane are expected to be complete in Winter 2024.
