GreenSquareAccord will provide nearly 2,000 new affordable homes in the next five years with the newly-announced funding from the government’s Affordable Homes Programme.

Homes England has confirmed grant funding of £212.9m to Matrix housing partnership, led by GreenSquareAccord, to provide 3,755 new affordable homes; the funding will support delivery of 1,900 new GreenSquareAccord homes. The remaining homes will be delivered by other Matrix partners: Citizen, Rooftop Housing Group, Trident Group, Black Country Housing Group, The Pioneer Group and WATMOS Community Homes.

“This is absolutely fantastic news, and builds on the previous successful Matrix strategic partnership,” says GreenSquareAccord Chief Executive Officer Ruth Cooke. “One of the key reasons for creating our new organisation was to deliver more new affordable homes – and this funding support from Homes England means we will be able to do just that.”

Homes England is committing almost £5.2bn in affordable housing grants to 31 strategic partnerships with 35 organisations. Together, they will deliver nearly 90,000 grant-funded affordable homes that are much needed across the country.
