We are delighted that our Financial Skills/Tenancy Sustainment team have been recognised for their outstanding efforts by being shortlisted for Team of the Year at the Housing Heroes Awards.

The awards are the most prestigious team awards in the sector and final takes place on the opening night of the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual conference. They celebrate the leaders and innovators in the sector, shining a light on the best work carried out by teams and individuals in the last year.

Our Financial Skills/Tenancy Sustainment team have been shortlisted for their work in supporting some of our most vulnerable customers with a range of complex issues, providing help with areas such as budgeting advice, benefits applications and ensuring they receive all the benefits they are entitled to. The team also help secure charity grants and hardship funds, and help to prevent fuel poverty through awareness, information, fuel vouchers and help with applications for assistance.

Teresa Jones, Financial Skills Team Leader said: “I’m delighted we have been shortlisted for the Team of the Year Category. I’m incredibly proud of the team – their hard work, support and dedication has a massive impact on our customers lives and is truly life changing.”

Jan Morse, Area Locality Manager said: “To be shortlisted for the Housing Heroes Awards, is a real credit to our Tenancy Sustainment Officers who assist our most vulnerable customers to access support they need and manage the most complex safeguarding cases on behalf of the business. The impact of the past two years has been considerable. True to form however, the team stepped up and found ways to support our customers through difficult and sometimes harrowing situations. This recognition is very much deserved.”

The Housing Heroes Awards will take place side by side with the Women in Housing Awards on Monday 27 June, as the opening ceremony at Housing 2022.
