Seal of Excellence Award granted to Site Manager Paul Edwards
Paul Edwards, Site Manager for our Chalk Wood development in Gloucestershire, was recently presented with a sought-after Seal of Excellence Award at the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards 2022.
The Pride in Job Awards are widely regarded as the Oscars of the house-building industry and attract stiff competition for the top spots. The awards this year have been paced over three stages; the first part saw Quality Award winners being announced in July, Regional Award winners and Seal of Excellence receipts published in the autumn and finally the National Award winners will be chosen in January 2023.
Every site manager managing a site registered for NHBC Buildmark is automatically entered in the Pride in the Job Award and they compete against each other at a regional level to win Quality Awards, Seals of Excellence, and the overall Regional Awards in their categories. The competition covers England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Isle of Man and includes house-building businesses of all sizes: small, medium and large, with a separate category for multi-storey construction.
Over the summer, Paul Edwards was one of 443 site managers, out of a crowded field of more than 8000, honoured with a Quality Award by the NHBC for his work on the Chalk Wood development. Paul is now one of only 49 in the Southwest region to be recognised with a Seal of Excellence award.
Paul, who has been Site Manager at the Chalk Wood site since the project started in January 2021, said: “It is a real honour to be recognised at the National House Building Council’s prestigious awards with a Seal of Excellence.
“Consistency and continual improvement have been critical to our success with two NHBC Quality Awards serving as milestones along the way. I would like to stress that our achievements this year have been a team effort. In particular, my Assistant Manager, Gino Cosentino, has made an invaluable contribution.”
Chalk Wood is a mixed development of 31 new homes in the village of Chalford Hill, Gloucestershire. 15 of these homes are private sale, five are shared ownership and 11 are affordable rent.
Earlier this year, Paul was also named Site Manager of the Year 2022 for Central and West at the Building Safety Group (BSG) Health and Safety Awards which recognise the dedication of site managers to health and safety in construction.
Congratulations Paul and team!
