We’re delivering 78 new affordable homes in Broad Blunsdon and Tadpole Garden Village, Wiltshire.

Our new homes at Tadpole Garden Village comprise 36 properties for affordable rent and another 15 homes reserved for customers seeking to buy under a low-cost home ownership scheme. These are the final homes which we will be taking on at Tadpole Garden Village.

The homes are situated in the up-and-coming North Swindon community of Tadpole Garden Village which combines the best of country living with the conveniences of town. Tadpole Garden Village is a purpose-built residential development which includes a primary school, independent eateries, nature trails, play parks and is well connected with regular bus services into Swindon with a short drive away from the A419.

Cllr Janine Howarth, Cabinet Member for Housing at Swindon Borough Council said: “We are delighted to be in partnership and enabling GreenSquareAccord to work with the developer in delivering quality affordable housing to those on the Council’s waiting list. The Council is committed to increasing the numbers of affordable housing as a key priority to support those unable to buy or rent privately.”

As part of the larger Blunsdon development, built by Backhouse, we will be providing at total of 27 homes with 19 earmarked for affordable rent and a further 6 homes available under a shared ownership scheme.

Our new homes at Blunsdon will include one-and two-bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom houses.

Allie Petrie who will soon be moving into one of our new homes at Blunsdon said: “I can’t wait to get the keys to my new place. We’re excited to move in and really start making it into our family home. Blunsdon is a lovely area to live in with the countryside on your doorstep but also not too far away from shops and restaurants.”

The scheme is well appointed with decorative landscaping around the boundaries of the homes and vegetation on the edge of the development to ensure privacy. All customers will have their own parking space, and some will have their own gardens. The Blunsdon development also includes a local area of play within its confines.

Incoming residents at Blunsdon will be spoilt for choice for local walks and able to enjoy the amenities in the thriving village of Broad Blunsdon including a community-owned shop, pubs and eateries, a bakery and a village hall which serves as a hub for activities and functions.

Corrina Johnson, our New Business Manager, said: “We are proud to be delivering much-needed quality affordable homes in North Swindon. In addition to providing homes for an affordable rent we are helping to make dreams a reality for those who aspire to property ownership. We have a range of property types available across both developments from one-bed apartments to three-bedroom houses therefore catering to a variety of local housing need.”

Both developments are well situated with all the conveniences of a large town available at Swindon nearby while being surrounded by the stunning Wiltshire countryside.
