We welcome our new Healthy Homes Advisors
On Thursday 1 February, we were joined by our new Healthy Homes Advisors.
Our Healthy Homes Advisors, the first to take on this new role, will be focussed on supporting our customers wellbeing and advising on how to prevent and manage damp and mould issues in our homes.
There will be one dedicated Healthy Homes Advisor in each of our localities.
Locality 1 covers Walsall, Wolverhampton, South Staffordshire, Cannock Chase and Stafford. Locality 2 covers Birmingham, Sandwell, Dudley and Coventry. Locality 3 covers Oxford city, Cherwell, Gloucester, West Oxfordshire, Swindon, Vale of White Horse, South Oxfordshire, Stroud, Malmesbury, Purton and Cricklade. Locality 4 covers Chippenham, Corsham, Royal Wootton Bassett, Calne, Melksham, Trowbridge, Marlborough and City of Bristol.
The new advisors will provide advice to customers on how to reduce humidity in their homes which will help to manage the effects of condensation.
Our Healthy Homes Advisors will also:
- Work alongside colleagues in our Tenancy Sustainment Team to support any customers who are identified to be in fuel poverty.
- Report minor remedial repairs and ensure they have been completed.
- Carry out mould washes, for mild cases, to support customers who are not able to do this for themselves.
- Flag any safeguarding or wellbeing concerns and report on any hazards identified within the home.
- Refer cases to the relevant Housing Officer where hoarding or overcrowding in the home is identified.
- Provide a link between our customers and external agencies, such as health services, and pass on information as necessary.
