About the role

GreenSqaureAccord are looking for someone who is committed to making a real impact upon youth homelessness in Wolverhampton. This service provides support for young people aged between 16 - 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

You will work across the Wolverhampton services, supporting staff and young people, as well offering an Out reach service to Young People in the community. You should be confident either travelling by public transport, or have your own transport.

This is a full time, 35 hour a week opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join the team on a permanent basis. The role will include shift work, between 9am and 9pm seven days a week, you will be expected to work days/evenings and weekends , on a rota basis. The shift patterns are 9AM -5PM or 1PM -9PM.

About you

As a Senior Support Worker working within this service, you will spend your time offering support services to young people, enabling them to live as independently as they can. You will also be providing a crucial role line managing a small team of Support Workers, under the guidance of the Project Manager, conducting regular supervisions and case management sessions.

Services include helping young people to settle into their accommodation, ensuring that homelessness is prevented and ultimately making them feel part of their community. You will work closely with our service users to work on developing their independence, seeking out opportunities for them to learn, work and get involved in community and social activities.

We want someone who has the knowledge, insight and experience of working with young people, but with a flexible working approach to be involved in all of the services currently being delivered under the support services projects. We would also like someone who has some experience in a team leader or senior role, but we will consider applications from someone who has experience of support worker and can evidence they have the ability to `step-up` to this level.

Due to the nature of this role, we want someone to `hit the ground running` and it is preferable that you hold a relevant level 2 qualification or equivalent. You should be able to communicate well, stay calm under pressure and above all, you need the willingness to learn and grow with us.

Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.
